Sorrento Networks appoints of Manfred Seehagen to lead European operations at new continental headquarters in Stuttgart

SAN DIEGO -- Sorrento Networks (Nasdaq:FIBR - News), a leading supplier of intelligent optical networking solutions for metro and regional applications, today announced that it has appointed Manfred Seehagen to lead the company's business in Europe as vice president, European operations. Seehagen will manage European operations from Stuttgart, Germany.Seehagen joined Sorrento Networks in March 1999 as sales and marketing director for Germany and has assumed increased responsibilities ever since. Seehagen has a computer science and electronics background as well as several years of sales and marketing experience with ITT Telecommunications, Standard Electrik Lorenz and Alcatel."Our new European organization underscores the critical importance of Deutsche Telekom and DeltaNet to Sorrento's business and also recognizes the achievements of our German team, under the leadership of Manfred Seehagen," stated Phil Arneson, chairman and chief executive officer of Sorrento Networks.
