Savvis Expands VPN Reach

HERNDON, Va. –– SAVVIS Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS), a global managed services provider, today announced that it has broadened the reach of its global Intelligent IP NetworkSM to provide cost-effective, business-class DSL access for managed VPNs to more than 1,000 small, medium and large markets across America.

Previously, companies with locations in smaller US markets, as well as companies with small offices in larger cities, could not afford or did not have access to the type of global IP infrastructure SAVVIS offers. Typically, they would implement relatively expensive T1-connections to support their business needs. The SAVVIS business-class DSL for managed VPNs provides a less expensive option to connect to its high performance global network and implement many of the managed services than SAVVIS customers in major markets currently employ.

SMEs and smaller branch locations are just as likely to have an interest in, and need for, IP VPN services, but are unlikely to be served by an established business-class carrier at present."
