Nortel provided Rishon LeZion with a complete telephony network for its headquarters, including 600 telephone extensions and feature-rich communications capabilities to help increase productivity. This network deployment, recently completed by Nortel senior channel partner GlobCall, will also make it possible for Rishon LeZion to extend IP telephony applications to its other municipal sites in the future.

"The advanced network we have provided the municipality allows administrators and citizens of Rishon LeZion to benefit from improved, cost-efficient communications that ultimately enhance the quality of service for the city's residents," said Sorin Lupu, president, Israel, Poland and South Eastern Europe, Nortel. "This advanced deployment includes project management, integration, implementation and installation in a sophisticated environment that includes contact centre, self-service, unified messaging, cellular adaptor, call recording and automatic dialing capabilities, which will allow the Municipality to extend service of the highest quality in the country," said Erez Aharoni, vice president, Sales and Business Development, GlobCall. "The system provided is designed as a comprehensive solution for an organisational environment over a robust and high-survivability platform that can be implemented in dispersed locations, and will offer Nortel's wide-ranging, proven telephony features. In addition, the system is IP-based and designed for connectivity to the Municipality's computer systems."
