SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- NetScaler, Inc., the application intelligent networking company, today announced that Google has deployed the NetScaler 9000 Series secure application networking system. The NetScaler 9000 Series was selected after an intensive testing period during which competitive traffic management solutions and various security gateway appliances were evaluated.

"People from all over the world use Google to find the information they need and it is imperative that our network performs well under these demands," states Urs Holzle, Google fellow. "Netscaler's systems withstood our most rigorous tests for server performance and network security."

Google enables users worldwide to immediately search an index of more than four billion Web documents to find the information they need. The popular search engine handles more than 200 million queries per day. Google deployed NetScaler's 9800 Secure Application Switch systems to support a select number of Google services and applications and plans to deploy the NetScaler systems to support its entire network in the near future.

NetScaler last month announced its Model for Application Intelligent Networking (MAIN), a framework for bringing to market a unified platform through which key application-layer security, optimization, and switching capabilities can be delivered to enterprises, e-commerce operations and Internet-based businesses for immediate business and IT benefits. NetScaler's current customer base now includes three of the top five Web sites in the world. "We feel extremely proud to welcome a world-class brand of Google's stature to NetScaler's customer portfolio," says Sheen Khoury, senior vice president of worldwide sales, NetScaler. "Google is extremely deliberate and critical in its technology procurement process. The fact that our technology was selected over the competition should speak for itself."
