ATLANTA -- Netifice Communications, Inc., a leading provider of flexible IP Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions to businesses worldwide, today announced the company’s Network-based IPSec VPN service.

This is one of the first services of its kind using Cisco’s advanced IPSec-to-MPLS security and routing technology. This new service provides greater reliability, scalability and ease-of-use than a do-it-yourself IP VPN solution. When integrated with the Company’s MPLS Private Networking service, it also provides greater performance and the flexibility by seamlessly combining all types of access technologies and remote users into a single, secure network infrastructure.

Netifice’s Network-based IPSec VPN service combined with its MPLS Private Network offering provides a single integrated platform for all of a customer ’s sites and remote users, which affords companies greater flexibility and performance. Off-net DSL, Cable and dial-up locations are connected via IPSec tunnels over the Internet and seamlessly merged with traffic from sites connected via on-net DSL, Frame Relay, ATM or dedicated circuits.Netifice maintains hundreds of peering connections with over 100 other service providers, ensuring maximum performance to customer’s off-net locations via the Internet. It also operates its own OC-12 nationwide network for dedicated circuits, Frame Relay and on-net DSL connections.

“Netifice's Network-based IPSec VPN service with IPSec-to-MPLS integration provides one of the most flexible and far-reaching VPN services available,”said Jeff Pompeo, Chief Technology Officer for Netifice Communications.“Distributed enterprise customers can now connect all of their sites and remote users on a single, secure platform without the hassle and expense of deploying their own concentrators.”

ATLANTA -- Internap Network Services Corporation (AMEX:IIP), the leading provider of performance-based routing technology over the Internet, today announced availability of its Internap Managed VPN service powered by Cisco Systems technology. The unique offering combines Internap's world-class IP connectivity with advanced router and security technology from Cisco Systems to provide a global IP VPN solution with the expandability of Cisco IOS(R) Software.

Internap Managed VPN service utilizes the latest capabilities of Cisco's routers to deliver an integrated solution over a single device that acts as a VPN, router and firewall. Delivered over Internap's high-performance IP connectivity, the service is ideal for rapidly growing applications like Voice over IP (VoIP), real-time streaming video and wireless networking. The solution extends a high level of security to wireless networks by encrypting the wireless data stream and solving a major security problem for growing corporate networks. It also delivers a superior level of service for traditional WAN applications, such as e-mail, corporate Internet and intranet, and remote user access.

"The Internap Managed VPN stands apart based on our high-performance IP architecture and the expertise of the industry's most proactive Network Operation Centers (NOCs)," said Ali Marashi, Chief Technology Officer at Internap. "With our strong Cisco relationship, we are able to give customers a future-proof, integrated solution that supports the most demanding IP applications."

The Internap solution is ideal for medium to large enterprises demanding the highest level of network performance and security, while seeking to reduce the capital investment and dedicated resources required to deploy and manage a high-end IP VPN solution. Unlike single-network solutions that use Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Internap's Managed VPN Service utilizes IPSec encryption technology, allowing customers to use existing Internet connectivity or Internap's optimized fault-tolerant connectivity.

"Internap, with its overlay network and patented intelligent route control technology, is uniquely positioned to participate in the growing VPN market," said Dave Abrahamson, Chief Marketing Officer at Internap. "Our integrated device and global footprint, combined with the industry's leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs), allow us to leapfrog other CPE and network-based VPN providers, delivering customers a world-class solution that supports their mission-critical applications, including VPN, VoIP, video streaming and wireless services." According to industry analyst firm Gartner, the VPN services market is projected to exceed $7.0 billion by 2007.
