PARIS -- Orckit-Corrigent, a pioneer of Carrier Ethernet + Transport (CE+T) solutions, is successfully demonstrating MPLS interoperability for Carrier Ethernet services by participating in the MPLS and Ethernet World Congress Multi-Vendor Interoperability testing, organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC). In addition to conducting in-depth MPLS interoperability testing, which took place January 12-23 at EANTC’s lab in Berlin, the event prepared live demonstrations and a showcase this week at the MPLS and Ethernet World Congress in Paris. For the testing, Orckit-Corrigent submitted members of the CM4000 product family which support MPLS Virtual Private Wire Services (VPWS) and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS) for business, residential triple play and mobile backhauling applications. Orckit-Corrigent's successfully demonstrated interoperability alongside leading vendors in the Carrier Ethernet market as described in details in the EANTC.

"I am very pleased that Orckit-Corrigent participated in our test," says Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director at EANTC. "The introduction of new vendors shows the increasing importance for interoperability in the telecommunication industry."

“Interoperability between key vendors in the Carrier Ethernet market proves the maturity and robustness of MPLS as the chosen networking technology,” says Sharon Mantin, VP corporate marketing at Orckit-Corrigent. “With our recent announcement of CM4140 Orckit-Corrigent’s CM4000 product portfolio enables service providers to push Layer 2 MPLS to the edge of the network and facilitates cost optimized MPLS-based Metro networks,” adds Sharon Mantin “with that in place we are entering 2009 with a strong and competitive portfolio of Carrier Ethernet solutions for next generation service provider networks" Mr. Mantin concludes.

Orckit-Corrigent’s CM4000 portfolio represents a unique offering to the marketplace that includes a standard MPLS Carrier Ethernet switch with a wide set of transport class capabilities (CE+T). This offering provides a compelling business case for carriers looking to build their next generation network.
