PARIS -- desaNet Telekommunikation Sachsen Ost GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of the energy provider ENSO Energie Sachsen Ost (ENSO), is to offer business customers voice and data services to enhance the safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness of their operations thanks to a new communications network from Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU).

The new communication network uses Alcatel-Lucent’s Internet Protocol/Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) technology. IP/MPLS enables the super-fast delivery of huge amounts of data in real time. Using the network desaNet will be able to offer businesses new services such as prioritization of signals in case of incidents so they can be fixed before they become an issue. The new network will enable desaNet to support multiple essential services on one communications system to reduce network complexity and costs.

The system will provide support for features such as teleprotection, which ensures faults are isolated from the main supply network to maintain the safety and reliability of a system - in milliseconds - before it can affect customers’ machinery and systems. At the same time it will also provide support for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, as well as other voice and data services.
