CHICAGO -- Laurel Networks, Inc. today announced that Level 3 Communications, Inc. has selected its ST200(TM) Service Edge Router as one of its platforms for an expansion of its (3)Flex(SM) data services in the US and Europe.

The Laurel ST200 was first deployed by Level 3 to deliver wide area Ethernet services in 2002. Since then, the ST200 has provided the service and interface flexibility, high reliability and capacity to evolve with the (3)Flex suite, supporting subsequent ATM and Frame Relay data service delivery to growing numbers of Level 3 customers in expanding markets. That proven performance has led to the selection of the ST200 to enable the expansion and enhancement of Level 3's IP VPN and lower-speed Ethernet, ATM and Frame Relay services.

"(3)Flex is a leading example of the benefits of an advanced, multi-service network," said Don Pyle, CEO, Laurel Networks. "Its continually evolving suite of converged voice, video and data services combines new levels of efficiency and flexibility with the reliability and security required by the most demanding users. We are extremely pleased that Level 3 has once again selected the ST200 to power these advanced services."
