KPNQwest Wins IP VPN Deal

HOOFDDORP, The Netherlands -- KPNQwest, the leading pan-European data communications and hosting company, has announced today that it has signed a deal to provide Tokyo Electron Europe Limited an IP VPN service across Europe, Middle East and United States. Tokyo Electron Europe Limited is a leading supplier of innovative semiconductor and LCD production equipment worldwide. Under the terms of the agreement, KPNQwest will provide Tokyo Electron Europe with a robust IP VPN service, with scalable bandwidth options, to interconnect sites in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Israel. The service will also be supported by a high-capacity transatlantic connection to the United States. The first 10 sites have already been implemented successfully. KPNQwest plans to expand the network to additional locations in Quarter 2, 2002. Tokyo Electron Europe will use the KPNQwest IP VPN product to support its global data communications requirements. The company will also realise significant cost-savings in migrating its existing network, based on Frame Relay, to an all IP-platform, providing the built-in flexibility to support additional services based on future needs.
