KPN Upgrades Its Alcatel DSLAMs

KPN upgrades its Alcatel DSL infrastructure to offer subscribers increased bandwidth with ADSL2+

PARIS -- Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) today announced that it has reached an agreement with KPN for the upgrade of their existing DSL infrastructure in The Netherlands. This contract involves the upgrade of all current DSLAM's, which were installed and implemented by Alcatel in previous years. As a result of this upgrade, KPN will be able to offer its subscribers increased bandwidth with ADSL2plus.

"We have had a long and fruitful relationship with Alcatel, and they are the right strategic partner for the evolution of our network. We want to be able to offer our customers the kind of services they desire, such as fast Internet and digital television. We are getting ready for the future", says Eelco Blok, KPN Director Corporate Strategy.
