ISS Launches New Proventia Appliances

Spyware Blocking. Innovative spyware identification technology built into the Proventia protection engine blocks known and unknown spyware applications from installation at the network-level before they are downloaded to the client. This preemptive blocking enables a superior level of security by eliminating reactive "cleaning" of spyware applications from client machines. Proventia intrusion prevention appliances also prevent spyware intelligence reporting from desktops that are already infected by automatically blocking active spyware application communication.

Trust X-Force® Prevention Policies. Customers deploying Proventia Intrusion Prevention Appliances with the "Trust X-Force" option enabled are protected immediately by a pre-configured set of "block" actions that has passed rigorous internal tests and is certified to be free of false positives. New security content that is downloaded via regular product updates can be activated automatically, if desired, when applied to the Proventia Intrusion Prevention Appliance.

Improved Policy Management. To support diverse deployment landscapes, Proventia intrusion prevention appliances allow administrators the flexibility to control policy at the device, port, VLAN and IP Address levels.

High Availability (HA). Critical for businesses in carrier-class environments, Proventia Intrusion Prevention Appliances fully support Active/Active HA environments while maintaining full session state. This helps to ensure that ISP and carrier network performance is not degraded, that service-level agreements are not violated and that network outages do not occur.

Web-based Local Management Interface (LMI). The new web-based LMI simplifies setup, management and monitoring of Proventia Intrusion Prevention Appliances.

SNMP Management. New SNMP management functionality allows for integration with 3rd-party network management products to provide key operational status indicators to network operations and security operations groups.
