REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Ingrian(TM) Networks, the leader in Active Application Security solutions, today announced a High Availability software solution that leverages dual Ingrian secure networking platforms to ensure continuous security and protection of Web-based applications and data -- even if one platform fails. The new solution addresses a growing requirement for "non-stop security" in Internet-powered businesses worldwide. The solution consists of Ingrian's new High Availability Service Engine software, which is deployed on a pair of Ingrian secure networking platforms positioned in front of back end servers and databases. Each platform offers the full range of Ingrian Active Application Security functions, including real-time encryption, intrusion protection, SSL acceleration, secure caching, and more. With the High Availability Service Engine software installed, both platforms maintain the same configuration data and cryptographic keys, but one platform operates in active mode while the other operates in passive mode. If the active platform fails for any reason, the passive platform immediately assumes full responsibilities with virtually no performance delays or interruption of Web application security services. "Even if an Ingrian platform goes down during an e-commerce transaction, cookie-based secure transactions already in process retain client/server affinity, so shopping carts don't get dropped," mentions Sanjay Beri, Product Manager for Ingrian Networks. "We implemented this granular level of protection because we understand the success of any e-business often depends upon the quality, performance, and protection of the end user's experience with that business."
