Huawei won Indonesia Excelcom’s national MPLS backbone router contract

SHENZHEN, China -- Huawei Technologies, the global supplier of telecom infrastructure, today announced that the company won Indonesia Excelcom’s national MPLS backbone router contract.

The purpose of this project is to build up Excelcom’s Next generation IP core for future service, like IP Access, NGN, 3G, MPLS VPN etc. According to the contract, Huawei’s 5th Generation Router NE80 and NE40-8, NE08E will be deployed in metropolitan cities of Indonesia, like Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Bandung as regional core node and in Singapore as international data traffic gateway. This network can be smoothly upgraded to 10G bandwidth in each of the metropolitan cities and will meet the coming demand of service increase in the next a few years. It will wholly improve Excelcom’s capability to provide abundant data service for their customers.
