SANTA ANA, Calif. -- OE Solutions America, Inc., a global supplier of high performance optoelectronic transceiver solutions for optical communications, today announced the introduction of a family of Small Form Factor Optical Line Terminal (OLT) transceivers for use in Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (GE-PONs).

The OBL4333F product family addresses the IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) Standard, supporting 1000BASE-PX10-D for 10km applications, 1000BASE-PX20-D for 20km applications and a non-standard, extended link budget 1000BASE-PX20-D+ for applications beyond 20km. The PX20 transceivers feature best-in-class performance with a burst mode sensitivity better than -30dBm, output power better than +3.5dBm and a loud/soft ratio of 22dB. The transceivers operate over an ambient temperature range of 0 to 70 degrees Celsius and can recover a burst signal with a guard time of less than 100ns and a settling time of less than 200ns. Additionally, the modules incorporate a high speed signal detect (SD) function that has a typical assert/de-assert time of 50ns for detecting a compliant signal on a subscriber by subscriber basis. The transceiver family conforms to the Small Form Factor (SFF) footprint with a singlemode fiber pigtail, and is offered in a 2x6 pin out.

“In a market where cost is so important, we strive to maintain technology and product performance leadership while still being cost competitive” said Moon Soo Park, OE Solutions’ Chief Technical Officer. “This high-performance OLT transceiver family will allow GEPON system providers to design with extra margin, and add features that will provide them the competitive edge that they need.”
