Corrent Unveils Security Processor

LAS VEGAS -- Building on its solid track record of delivering semiconductors and system solutions for high-speed Internet security, Corrent today announced immediate availability of the CR7120, the first silicon product in the company's Packet Armor(TM) security processing platform. The devices are scheduled for full production availability in the fourth quarter of 2002. Using Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) standards, the CR7120 operates at speeds up to three gigabits per second throughput using Corrent's new programmable IPsec packet engine to accelerate IP-based Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) over both public and private networks. "Corrent's products allow for the fastest data rates in the industry and offload not only the encryption functions, but also all of the IPsec packet processing functions from the network processor," said Sherry Garber, senior vice president of Semico Research Corporation.
