China Mobile Picks Huawei Softswitch 602559

SHENZHEN, China -- China Mobile Guangdong Branch, one of the biggest subsidiaries of China Mobile (HK) Limited, declared to select Huawei advanced GSM soft-switch MSC to build TMSC2 plane network, which covers Guangdong province and deal with all the long-distance mobile calls between two cities in Guangdong. The contract approximated 10,000 E1 ports.

Huawei GSM soft-switch MSC is based on packet switch technology; it can be shared by GSM and WCDMA, supports smooth evolution from GSM to WCDMA. Therefore, Huawei GSM soft-switch MSC is the latest version of GSM MSC. Most importantly, it can save large scale of transmission via IP transmission.

The latest GSM/WCDMA soft-switch MSC of Huawei has won contract in GSM network of AIS in Thailand last year. ETISALAT in UAE and Hong Kong’s SUNDAY also selected Huawei’s new generation soft-switch MSC to build WCDMA network. On April 5th, China Mobile announced that Huawei GSM soft-switch has been selected to build TMSC1 plane network. Now, more and more operators start to build soft-switch MSC in GSM network to help them keep the leading position of GSM network building and to save investment of 3G network building in the future. The soft-switch GSM MSC is more and more popular now.
