SANTA CLARA, Calif. Centile, Inc., a subsidiary of 8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq: EGHT - News), today announced the use of its iPBX server software solutions in the SoftConnect product distributed by AG Communication Systems (AGCS), a subsidiary of Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU - News). AGCS's SoftConnect is a software based IP communication system that not only reduces the complexity and cost of enterprise voice communications by consolidating voice as a data application, but also delivers the productivity tools that result from the integration of voice and data. SoftConnect has a full suite of Private Branch exchange (PBX) features as well as new VoIP features that will support any enterprise needs. Applications such as Road Warrior and Teleworker enable end-user mobility and accessibility. Both physical office building boundaries and functional enterprise organization boundaries are traversed with the Virtual Office application. SoftConnect delivers powerful new communications productivity worldwide, providing enhanced business communications applications through the convergence of voice and data over Internet protocol. SoftConnect incorporates the Centile iPBX server software solutions which can be deployed by service providers and enterprises either in a hosted configuration or an on-premises configuration. Centile iPBX server software solutions provide a complete set of business communications features. These include standard PBX features such as voice mail, auto attendant, N-way conferencing, call forwarding/find-me options, do not disturb, call waiting, hunt/ring/FAX groups and automatic call distribution, as well as new computer telephony features that are only possible with a converged voice and data network. Centile's multi-business, shared, remote receptionist and user control applications are bundled with the offering to enable users to control their phone features from any Internet access point. The system enables "click-to-call" operations from a corporate or personal directory (with synchronization support for Microsoft Outlook and other contact databases). Centile's iPBX server software solutions also support broadband point to point video communications using the new DV325 video telephone from 8x8. This enables high quality broadband video with the simplicity of dialing a conventional telephone number. "We are very pleased to be working with a premier telecommunication provider such as AGCS," noted Huw Rees, Centile's CEO. "SoftConnect bundles the features and communication advancements of packet voice with the quality and service that a provider like AGCS can provide to large enterprise and carrier customers."
