Cedar Point Communications is selected by Comcast as primary partner for voice switching

DERRY, N.H. -- Cedar Point Communications announced today that ithas been selected by Comcast Corporation as a primary vendor of voice over InternetProtocol (“VoIP”) services equipment.

Under the multi-year agreement, Comcast will expand its deployment of Cedar Point’sintegrated SAFARI C3 Media Switching System to multiple new phone markets.SAFARI C3 combines all of the elements of distributed softswitching architecture into asingle packet-based unit with the security, quality and reliability of Class 5 circuit switches.

SAFARI C3’s unique integrated architecture will enable Comcast to deliver the callfeatures flexibility and price efficiencies of VoIP while realizing significantly reducingcapital expenditures, system integration and operations costs.“Comcast has been both practical and visionary in advancing cable’s technologicalfoundation,” said Andy Paff, president and CEO of Cedar Point Communications.
