Bureau Veritas Picks Infonet

PARIS and EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE/FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced that Bureau Veritas, the leading international consulting group specialising in conformity assessment, consulting, training and outsourcing, has signed a three-year contract to migrate their network to Infonet's global MPLS-enabled IP VPN with Classes of Service (CoS). Bureau Veritas is drawing upon Infonet's patent-pending Network Application Program (NAP) methodology to determine the appropriate CoS to operate throughout the network. The IP MPLS network will connect 45 sites throughout Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. Bureau Veritas' secondary sites will be connected via Infonet's Internet VPN on-net and off net services. Throughout its 550 offices and laboratories worldwide, Bureau Veritas provides an extensive range of technical services and solutions in 140 countries. With 13,000 employees, the company serves more than 200,000 customers from local companies to major multinational corporations. To support its global growth and communications requirements, including the support of enterprise applications from JD Edwards, Domino and Lotus Notes, as well as internal legacy systems running on the network, Bureau Veritas decided to refine its network to become more cost-effective, without compromising service quality. Infonet was selected to install classes of service not only at entry and exit points, but throughout the network, thus guaranteeing the optimum quality of service between all principal sites.
