ANAHEIM, Calif. -- BeamReach Networks today introduced BeamPlex(TM), the world's first broadband wireless access system based on adaptive beamforming and null steering technology. This system is extraordinary in its ability to serve a large cell area with customer installable CPE, without compromising subscriber data rates or system capacity. BeamPlex can support thousands of users with a fraction of the number of base stations required by competitive technologies. The BeamPlex system represents the most economical solution for wireless broadband access. It allows network operators to build highly profitable business cases, and competes very favorably with wired alternatives on services, speed, performance, and price. "The most flexible and cost-effective way to continue our deployment of broadband data services is to be prepared to employ a combination of technologies," said Mark Wegleitner, Verizon chief technology officer. "We feel a fixed wireless solution such as that from BeamReach could be a meaningful component of our deployment plans. We look forward to field trials of this new technology later this year.
