Aepona Boosts IM Capacity

Further developments of Aepona's Causeway solution will allow it to roll out Personal Instant Messaging (PIM) solutions

BELFAST, U.K. -- Aepona, the provider of telecoms services and applications for communications service providers worldwide, has announced that further developments of its Causeway solution will make it the ideal platform for operators planning to roll out Personal Instant Messaging (PIM) solutions.

At the recent 3GSM Congress in Barcelona the CEOs of some of the world's leading operators - including Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobil - announced that they would be rolling PIM solutions out in the near future. The GSM Association has also claimed that always-on, always available mass market instant messaging on mobile phones will be a major market opportunity for operators worldwide.

According to Michael Curran, VP Market Development of Aepona, "Causeway allows operators to embed presence and location services into many applications. The fastest route to market for new PIM services will be our market proven technology."

We have also extended our Parlay-X web services interface to allow developers to manage PIM sessions and to embed presence and user location data."
