BEDFORD, Mass. -- Empirix Inc., the leading supplier of VoIP testing systems, today introduced Hammer Suite Studio(TM), the industry's first automated environment for stress and feature testing of enhanced IP services applications. Hammer Suite Studio eliminates the time and costs associated with manual test programming, enabling users to quickly customize test software and templates, while providing repeatable test scenarios. It also provides new tools to speed analysis of test results.

The environment is focused initially on CLASS (Custom Local Area Signaling Service) feature testing scenarios for SIP-enabled devices and switching systems and runs on the Hammer FX-IP(TM) platform. Detailed information on Hammer Suite Studio is available at www.empirix.com.

"Next-generation enhanced IP services differ significantly from legacy services and architectures, due to their multi-session, multi-device, and multi-protocol nature," said Steven Gladstone, VP and General Manager of the Empirix Communication Infrastructure Group. "SuiteStudio demonstrates our growing focus on facilitating deployment of enhanced IP services, and testing at the application and service layer. In addition to our traditional customers, Suite Studio can jumpstart enterprise users seeking to evaluate IP-PBXs and/or IP Centrex services and baseline application performance."

Hammer Suite Studio's first release provides a CLASS test environment, including Class 5-specific tests, created for network equipment manufacturers building, enhancing and deploying softswitches and IP-PBX systems, service providers evaluating TDM to IP transitions for Centrex services, and application platform providers who need to validate interworking and interoperability between devices, endpoints and application servers. It provides templates and applications for testing CLASS features including call waiting, call forwarding, caller ID, call screening, attended and unattended transfer and others. Hammer Suite Studio tests each step in CLASS feature implementations, enabling users to quickly pinpoint specific causes of failures, while verifying the user experience.

The Hammer Suite Studio environment shortens the time and reduces the complexity of regression testing, speeding time to market. It enables intelligent application-level emulations while leveraging the capabilities of the Hammer FX-IP, the most comprehensive VoIP endpoint simulator available. Each endpoint can be emulated as a different device with different behaviors, and the product provides a library of software tools, including templates, scripts and dynamic device coordination link libraries, as well as the Hammer TestView(TM) utility for powerful, flexible graphical and tabular interpretation of test results.
