Eclipse Takes DSL Further

EATONTOWN, N.J. -- Award-winning, innovative Internet Service Provider Eclipse Internet has announced that it is making its high speed broadband service - FLEX Broadband - available to even more users. The announcement comes as a result of today's news from BT on the success of their extended reach trials in Milton Keynes in which Eclipse has been involved.

Trials have shown that people living and working further than 5.5km from their local exchange can now receive ADSL broadband services when previously they could not. It is a major step forward in the delivery of broadband to the vast majority of the UK population.

Eclipse Internet will accept advanced orders for its FLEX Broadband 500Kbps services based on the new limits from today. Advance orders will be processed when the new range limits come into effect on 6th September. With a five day set up period this means that customers who have previously been too far away from their exchange to get broadband can start benefiting from FLEX as early as 11th September.

Throughout the duration of the Olympic Games* Eclipse is offering one month's free flexing for new users. Customers placing advanced orders during this period will benefit from this offer from the date of their line activation.

Commenting on the announcement by BT, Mark Lang, MD & founder Eclipse Internet said, "We were delighted to be asked by BT to assist them in the Long Reach ADSL trials in Milton Keynes. We are even more delighted that the trials have proved successful. We want to make these extended services available to our customers at the earliest opportunity, which is why we have already amended our automated ordering system to accept advanced orders for them."

Lang continued, "Eclipse is still the only UK ISP to offer 'boostable' broadband speeds. Our FLEX Broadband services enable users to flex their download speed from 250Kbps to 1Mbps or from 500Kbps to 2Mbps, depending on which service they subscribe to. As BT continues to improve the broadband access for more remote users, FLEX Broadband will enable them to take advantage of these improvements without having to undergo any disruptive or expensive re-grading of their service."
