PETACH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom's (NASDAQ: ECIL - News) announced today that it has been chosen as the supplier of xDSL solutions to a major incumbent telecom operator in the Asia Pacific Region. Baycom/Tecom, ECI's partner in the country, was selected as the turn-key solution provider of the project for which ECI expects to deliver over 800,000 advanced xDSL lines to support the ongoing rollout of the operator's broadband access network in all four of its regions.

ECI will supply its most updated Multi Service Access Gateway solution, Hi-FOCuS(TM) 4 - a platform designed to meet the stringent requirements of tomorrow's triple play (video, data and voice) operators with high cost-effectiveness.

Pinny Chaviv, ECI Telecom's Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Broadband Access Division said: "We are extremely pleased to have been chosen for this project. This is a major win for ECI Telecom and proves, once again, that ECI is at the forefront of the broadband access market. This operator's broadband access network is one of the most dynamic in the world and the deployment of our broadband access platform in this region is a reflection of our technological, operational and commercial excellence".

ECI's Hi-FOCuS platform enables significant capital cost reductions in existing and new service deployment applications while simplifying operations and service delivery. Additionally, the powerful architecture enables the deployment of both point-to-point and point-to-multi-point fiber-based networks with various FTTx (Fiber to the Curb, Home, Building, etc.) implementations.

Supporting a wide range of network interfaces Hi-FOCuS 4 seamlessly integrates into any network environment. Furthermore, the system supports dual homing, which allows operators to coexist and smoothly migrate from ATM to IP when needed.
