PETAH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom (NASDAQ:ECIL) today announced new data capabilities for its XDM(r)-100 Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP), which is specifically designed and optimised for the access and cellular markets.

This enhanced, powerful multi-service platform further cements ECI's leadership in promoting leading edge, innovative transport solutions that cater to the next generation emerging needs of wireless service providers. ECI has already begun initial large-scale deployments of this newly released cutting edge platform with leading, tier 1 wireless service providers.

"These new additions represent a fulfillment on our promise to expand our data expertise across the network therefore further cementing our leadership in pioneering leading edge solutions to forward looking wireless operators. These newly announced capabilities follow on the heels of the initial launch of our MSPP families and Ethernet interface cards last year," commented Ido Gur, VP marketing, ECI's Optical Networks Division. "The XDM-100's versatility, combined with its small footprint and economical cost, makes it now also an ideal data handling solution for the more focused and highly cost-sensitive access and cellular markets. We expect that our enhanced offering will allow us to further capitalize on our current leadership in these key applications, therefore positioning ECI to target a rapidly emerging, large scale next generation transport market".

In a separate release:

ECI Telecom (NASDAQ:ECIL) today announced new feature enhancements to its portfolio of network management solutions. With Version 2.0, new data capabilities have been added to ECI's eNM LightSoftT network management system to respond to service provider demands for effective end-to-end management of numerous network layers and services. In addition, ECI will introduce Alarm Messenger for advanced system fault monitoring and response.

LightSoftT v.2
In line with ECI's XDM- multi-service platform concept, LightSoft has a modular software architecture that enables the introduction of additional layers when required. LightSoft incorporates a new Ethernet technology layer alongside the existing SDH/SONET and optical layers. This allows operators to easily view and configure Ethernet Layer 2 services across ECI's XDM and BroadGateT mLAN platforms.

Further enhancements to LightSoft 2.0 include the introduction of interfaces providing access to external planning tools, strengthened security at the Unix level, at-a-glance network availability maps, and numerous other features designed to make network maintenance easier and more efficient.

Alarm Messenger
Furthermore ECI is launching a new Alarm Messenger software package designed to facilitate the role of the network administrator. The software interfaces with ECI's network management applications and, if a problem is detected, sends immediate alarm notifications to authorised network administration personnel via email and/or SMS (Short Message Service). Alarm Messenger is easy to install, supports up to 100 user accounts and with integrated security ensures text or statistical information is accessed by authorised recipients only.

"With these latest enhancements to our portfolio of management solutions, we are affirming our commitment to addressing the evolving management requirements of service providers as they introduce new technologies to their networks," commented Ido Gur, VP sales and marketing, ECI's Optical Networks Division.
