LONDON -- Easynet, the leading broadband communications provider, has today announced a significant long-term contract with British Waterways for the provision of a comprehensive range of telecommunications solutions. Connecting nearly 20 British Waterways sites, Easynet will be providing STM-1 (155Mbit/s) and STM-4 (622Mbit/s) managed bandwidth services across the UK. This announcement marks one of the first major contract wins using Easynet's new fibre optic network since the network was switched on less than one month ago. British Waterways, which runs over 2,000 miles of canal and river network, is using the Easynet Telecommunications solution to connect a number of offices throughout the UK, facilitating full IP access on all sites as well as video and audio conferencing, video streaming and fast data transfer. Additionally, in the event of any breach or network incident, the core Easynet network provides alternative data paths, ensuring continuation of service.Easynet Ltd.
