CHATSWORTH, Calif. -- MRV Communications, (NASDAQ:MRVC) , a leading provider of products and services for out-of-band networking, WDM and optical transport, metro Ethernet, fiber optic components, 10GE and other service aware networking products, today announced that three of its solutions have been accepted for evaluation by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). JITC is chartered with certifying interoperability for all networking products to be used by agencies that make up the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD).

JITC will evaluate MRV's LambdaDriver scalable wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system; Fiber Driver systems for services demarcation, wave division multiplexing (WDM) and media conversion; and its LX Series console servers which deliver comprehensive out-of-band networking, redundancy and security features.

"The drive to earn JITC certification underscores our commitment to providing scalable, secure high-speed networking solutions for critical government operations such as defense," said Noam Lotan, president and CEO of MRV. "Formal assessment of MRV's robust products, which include many fault-tolerance features and the first-ever support of FIPS 140-2 in a console server will enable a highly interoperable, secure and feature-rich solution for DOD agencies."
