BARCELONA, Spain –- At the 2006 EMEA Netcool User Conference, Cramer and Micromuse, which was recently acquired by IBM, today announced that they will install an integrated service management platform at T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s., a leading provider of mobile services to more than four million customers in the Czech Republic. This marks the first deployment of its kind within the T-Mobile Group and will help the company manage complex network requirements, automate more of its network operation processes, resolve faults quickly and deliver services more efficiently and accurately.

The joint solution from Cramer and Micromuse is designed to provide a unified network configuration management and service assurance strategy for T-Mobile Czech’s mobile network. IBM Global Services will be involved in the deployment.

“Our customers are our number one priority and enhancing customer service is a key focus for us,” said Vaclav Hladik, Head of Service Management Centre at T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s. “The integrated software solution enables us to improve the quality and consistency of current services, and allows us to roll out new services more efficiently.”

Cramer’s industry-leading active inventory solution has been deployed across T-Mobile Czech Republic’s radio access, transmission and switching network. The solution will replace a number of legacy databases and eliminate manual processes to consolidate multiple systems onto a single platform for network inventory management. Cramer’s solution will deliver a comprehensive and accurate source of data to streamline network resource management. In addition, the operator will benefit from Cramer’s proven data modeling capabilities to mitigate risk and to ensure the successful deployment of new products and services.

The integrated solution provides visibility of services and customers that are affected when there is a network outage. For example, when a fault occurs within the network, Netcool software from Micromuse passes the fault information to Cramer. The Cramer solution’s complete network topology and behavior modeling quickly delivers information on the location of the fault, as well as details of related resources, customers and services. This enriched information enables root cause analysis and service impact modeling. The result is improved customer satisfaction through reduced fault resolution times, better first-time fix rates and proactive fault notifications.

“Wireless carriers need scalable solutions to cope with the increasing demands of a complex, growing, multi-technology network,” said Guy Dubois, President and CEO, Cramer. ”Together, Cramer and Micromuse deliver a powerful solution that can dramatically reduce the cost of maintaining network inventory and provide substantial savings of time and effort associated with fault resolution.”

“T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s. is the fifth member of the T-Mobile Group to standardize on Netcool solutions,” said Richard Lowe, Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Micromuse. “Our focus on providing scalable, flexible pre-integrated solutions with leading partners such as Cramer delivers a fast return on investment and lower total cost of ownership for leading service providers who want to improve service quality and reduce customer churn.”
