NEPTUNE, N.J. -- Controlware Communications Systems, Inc., aleading provider of network access products, has introduced its CoarseWavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) WavePilot as an economicalalternative to Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems. The CWDM platform with an SDI Interface allows carriers and enterprises to maximize the capacity of their fiber connectivity and to take advantage of WDM and uncompressed video transport over fiber.By combining Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) and CWDM technologies, theWavePilot system enables cost-effective transportation of numerous smaller,low-speed applications. Up to eight high-speed or 32 low-speed channels canbe supported by the CWDM WavePilot, with each channel module providingbetween 10 Mbps and 1.25 Gbps of bandwidth. If necessary, a TDM TimePilotmodule can be implemented to allow the pre-multiplexing of low-speedapplications."Over the past few years, Controlware’s LastMile Division examined productsand solutions based on Wide Wave Division Multiplexing (WWDM) and DWDMtechnologies, and realized the importance of creating a system that bridgedthe gap between what was technically feasible and what was economicallyreasonable," said Tim Rubert, chief executive officer of ControlwareCommunications Systems. "The innovative WavePilot CWDM platform is amodular, flexible solution that meets corporate and service providernetworking needs."Controlware GmbH
