Dr Ting Wei Li makes the move from Qualcomm to drive Marvell's growth in China

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Marvell (Nasdaq:MRVL - News), a worldwide leader in integrated silicon solutions, today announced the appointment of Dr. Ting Wei Li as its new Vice President and General Manager of China Business, effective immediately. With the announcement, Marvell continues to strengthen its position as one of the most significant, fastest-growing semiconductor companies in China. The company has operations in Shanghai, Beijing, Hefei and Shenzhen. Marvell's flagship design center in Shanghai has more than 800 engineers serving China's largest mobile and consumer electronics companies.

"I am very pleased that a talented leader like Dr. Li has joined the Marvell family as we actively pursue our vision and growth plans in China."

Prior to joining Marvell, Dr. Li served as head of Qualcomm's Shanghai office and as senior director of business development. In this position, he primarily concentrated on carrier relations and the development of CDMA wireless technologies in China. He also previously served as technical deputy for Lucent Technologies and held research positions at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago, IL, and Leiden University, Netherlands. Dr. Li obtained a Ph.D. in experimental physics from Leiden University in the Netherlands, a Master of Science degree from the Chinese Academy of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
