SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Cortina Systems, Inc. (Cortina), delivering innovative technologies that link people and networks worldwide, today announced the CS605x, a breakthrough family of highly integrated transport processors supporting the converged 100G market, delivering the first ASSP product family for the transport and aggregation of 10G, 40G, and 100G signals. The continual growth in bandwidth demand propelled by personalized services such as video streaming, mobile data coupled with emerging cloud computing, and hosted application services, is driving service providers to upgrade to higher-capacity, faster, and more efficient networks deploying 40G and 100G wavelengths.

Building upon its 10G and 40G leadership, Cortina’s CS605x device family is the world’s first ASSP solution offering that targets the emerging 100G markets. It offers advanced analog integration, proven optical transport networking, and FEC leadership. The CS605x meets the stringent requirements of both Optical and Ethernet networks ushering in new applications for the 100G converged market, including Data Centers, Carrier Ethernet, Core and Edge Router applications, DWDM, and Packet Optical Transport.
