LOD, Israel and NEUCHÂTEL, Switzerland -- GalayOr Networks Ltd., a developer of on-chip integrated Micro-optical components and packaging solutions based on unique moving-waveguide technology, today announced a development partnership with Swiss-based Colibrys S.A., Europe’s largest independent manufacturer of silicon MEMS, and Micro-optical components. The agreement will enable GalayOr to provide its customers with a single source for advanced MEMS-based components, providing lower cost per component, higher performance and reduced circuit size through tighter integration.Under the terms of the collaboration, after an initial process migration phase, Colibrys will fabricate GalayOr’s MEMS SOI waveguides based products in its manufacturing unit, providing GalayOr with more than 20 years of MEMS fabrication expertise. The first of such products is the world’s most compact VOA (Variable Optical Attenuator), which is integrated with electronic circuitry.“We are truly excited to team with Colibrys. We have evaluated more than 10 silicon MEMS manufacturers in a period of almost a year and have selected Colibrys for its worldwide reputation for technical excellence and ability to convert ideas into volume production. I believe that the combination of GalayOr’s moving-waveguides technology and Colibrys’s commercial manufacturing capabilities will enable us to bring to the market cost-effective and reliable products for existing and future networking solutions" said Uri Geiger, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at GalayOr Networks.GalayOr NetworksColibrys SA
