SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- CoAdna Photonics, Inc., a leading supplier of dynamic modules for ROADM and WXC applications, today announced the introduction of the first Liquid Crystal-based 50GHz 1x23 Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) in the industry, further enabling system providers to expand bandwidth and build flexible and intelligent optical networks cost-effectively. The new WSS will be demonstrated at CoAdna’s OFC/NFOEC’2010 Booth #2219 at San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, March 23-25, 2010.

CoAdna’s 50GHz 1x23 WSS incorporates all of the functionality and reliability of its proprietary LightFlow™ platform and confirms the superior scalability of this technology, offering 1x2 to 1x23 configurations for 10, 40 and 100Gbps applications. Like CoAdna’s 100GHz and 50GHz WSS product portfolios, the 50GHz 1x23 module offers excellent performance with integrated functionalities of demuxing, hitless/colorless switching, power balancing, and muxing in one package; remote configurability via embedded firmware and software; scalability, and extremely low power consumption. The product features low insertion loss, high dynamic range, flat & wide passband and blockband for high cascadability for both long haul & metro applications.

CoAdna’s 50GHz TFA incorporates the key technology and reliability of its proprietary LightFlow™ platform and offers excellent performance with integrated functionalities of hitless wavelength selection and customized bandwidth for up to 96 channels in one compact package; remote configurability via embedded firmware and software; scalability, and extremely low power consumption. The product features low insertion loss, flat & wide passband and high extinction ratio for both metro and access applications.
