LINTHICUM, Md. and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - CIENA Corporation (Nasdaq: CIEN), a leading provider of intelligent optical networking systems, and Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR), provider of the industry-leading M160(tm) Internet backbone router, today announced the successful completion of interoperability testing between 10Gbps (OC-192c/STM-64) optical and IP networking platforms.

Direct connectivity between CIENA's MultiWave CoreStream(tm) intelligent optical transport system and Juniper's M160 full-performance core router makes 10Gbps next-generation optical networks, delivering pure 10G IP services over glass, a reality for service providers.
