RESTON, Va. -- Transaction Network Services (TNS), one of the world's leading providers of fast, cost-effective data communications services for transaction-oriented applications, today announced that Cavalier Telephone has selected TNS' Telecom Services Division to provide Signaling System 7 (SS7) network services. Under the agreement, TNS will consolidate all of Cavalier's SS7 signaling requirements and provide a single point of access to SS7 services across the TNS network. "Prior to our contract with TNS, we were using two different organizations to meet our SS7 requirements which meant two sets of invoices and multiple points of contact," said Brad Evans, CEO, Cavalier Telephone. "After evaluating a number of comparable solutions, we found that TNS could consolidate all of our SS7 needs and provide intelligent network services at competitive prices and with total management. TNS will be an important partner as we continue to grow our network to deliver the competitive packages that the market demands." TNS' SS7 network supports the TNS domestic Point-of-Sale network and provides the technology, diversity and capacity necessary to manage the traffic requirements of growing carriers. TNS manages and supports a full range of SS7 services for its carrier customers, providing nationwide LATA coverage and access to a wide array of Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) services such as Local Number Portability (LNP), CNAM, 800, and Custom Local Area Signaling Services (CLASS). The TNS network currently transports over 10 billion calls a year for telecom, point of sale and financial services clients and supports many wireline and wireless carriers.
