ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Wave7 Optics, Inc., today announced the introduction of the Last Mile CoreTM (LMC), an integral part of the Last Mile LinkTM (LML) advanced optical access system. The environmentally hardened LMC provides an in-network point of optical regeneration and bandwidth management, providing network operators reach and bandwidth flexibility not available using competing technologies. The Wave7 Optics LML advanced optical access system provides video (CATV and digital, including IP streaming), high-speed data and telephony services (IP-based or circuit-based) to subscribers with dedicated and on-demand symmetrical data rates of up to 500 Mb/sec/subscriber, all on a single fiber. The Last Mile Link architecture is standards-based, cost-competitive with current HFC implementations, and includes industry-leading Quality-of-Service (QoS) mechanisms for enhanced features. The solution overcomes the high fiber count, limited distance range and high equipment costs of competing FTTX solutions, such as passive optical networks (PONs). In a separate release: Wave7 Optics, Inc., today announced the introduction of the Last Mile GatewayTM (LMG) series of customer premise devices that provide the subscriber interfaces for the Last Mile LinkTM (LML) advanced optical access system. The Last Mile Gateway – Modular Residential (LMG-MR) and the Last Mile Gateway Business (LMG-B) each provide subscribers a range of high-speed data interface options, POTS or VoIP telephony options, and optional CATV or IP video. The LMG-B provides additional TDM connectivity through multiple T1 options. In a separate release: Wave7 Optics, Inc., today announced the commercial introduction of their high-bandwidth, fiber-deep Last Mile LinkTM (LML) optical access system. The LML is a revolutionary optical access architecture that effectively eliminates the current cost and implementation barriers faced by network operators in deploying Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB) solutions. In a separate release: Optical access company Wave7 Optics, Inc., has announced that their Last Mile LinkTM Fiber-to-the-Home system has been selected for deployment by Conxxus, LLC, of Paxton, IL, to serve customers with high-speed data, voice and video services. Conxxus will initially deploy the Last Mile Link to serve 2000 homes with expansion plans to serve 10,000 homes through 2002.“Our strategy is based on offering next-generation services to our customers at a competitive price point. Wave7 Optics’ Last Mile Link architecture provides the most cost effective solution that allows us to offer those services over an optical network,” said Kevin Osterbur, Business Manager of Conxxus. “We wanted to provide a fiber-to-the-home solution because it would allow us to give our customers a flexible range of services over a single state-of-the-art network. After comparing all of the optical access technologies available today, we chose Wave7 Optics because they offer the most feature-rich and practical solution on the market.” Wave7 Optics Inc.
