The testing does not require any external DSL modem, the set top box, or the TV and can be done from the NID outside the customer premise. The Video over DSL Test Suite option allows the CoLT-450 to display the video streaming rate and any MPEG2/4 or WM9 errors, IP packet loss, ADSL and ATM frame losses and errors for the previous 5 minutes using an on screen time reference marker. This is a crucial tool to determine the source and timing of faults. The Consultronics CoLT-450 once equipped with an ADSL/ ADSL2+ Modem module and “VDTS” package will aid the TelcoTV Service Provider identify issues effecting the video quality at the subscriber side of the service.
