Three new Astria platforms that complete a product line that now extends from a 2-slot, 1 RU chassis to a 16-slot 12 RU chassis,

"Today's launch of the extended Astria product line addresses the next-generation needs of our digital TV, broadcast and government customers," stated Craig Bender, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development for Tut Systems. "Our new Astria chassis allows digital TV service providers to scale their program needs from the mobile edge, for example recording a local church service or high school football game, to processing 100 or more national TV programs at their metro core. Our new management options will allow these programs to be automatically protected on a 1 for N basis across all of our chassis. We have also added new ad insertion products to our lineup that enable service providers to generate local ad revenue and community spot insertions totally in the digital domain. For broadcasting and government surveillance applications, the new smaller-sized chassis will also allow our customers to place encoders at remote and/or mobile sights in a right-sized, cost-effective manner. And for all of our customers, the new multi-DSP board facilitates the migration to new high-performance encoding options such as MPEG-4 AVC and Windows Media 9 Advanced Profile."
