Next Level Wins at Telcos

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Three new telcos have purchased equipment from Next Level Communications (Nasdaq:NXTV) to deliver an advanced package of broadband services over existing telephone lines. KMTelecom in Minnesota, Venus Telephone Corp. in Pennsylvania and Allendale Telephone Co. in Michigan are the newest companies to deploy the Next Level Full Service Access Platform.KMTelecom in Kasson, MN, purchased Next Level equipment last week to deploy as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) in neighboring Dodge Center, MN. The Minnesota telco will use Next Level's Full Service Access Platform to offer integrated digital TV service, high-speed Internet and voice services to 1,000 customers initially, with subsequent plans to extend the services to 5,000 additional customers in the remainder of its service area.Venus Telephone Co. purchased Next Level equipment last week to deliver digital TV services to approximately 1500 customers in northwestern Pennsylvania. Venus will initially use the equipment to deliver high-speed Internet to the towns of Venus, Fryburg, Marble and Fertigs, with plans to deliver digital TV services later in 2003.Allendale Telephone Co. purchased Next Level equipment to deliver voice and data services to customers in Allendale, MI, a city of 15,000 located 15 miles west of Grand Rapids, MI. Allendale purchased the Next Level platform after surveying deployments in MN, OH and IL."Telco access equipment is an investment, and like any other investment, it should be judged on its ability to generate returns," said J.
