IRVING, Texas -- NEC America, Inc. (NEC), a leading provider of microwave radio communications products, announced today the launch of NLite(TM), a high-quality and reliable short-haul access digital microwave relay system.The NLite is specifically designed for small and medium traffic capacity requirements, featuring a unique T1 plus Ethernet capability to efficiently transmit voice and data for frequency bands of 18, 23, and 38 GHz.Now shipping in the United States, the NLite system meets the connectivity demands of network operators in providing broadband solutions for their networks and delivering higher performance to their end-users. NEC's global supply record of NEC NLite/Pasolink through FY2001 is 71,885 terminals.
