SUWANEE, Ga. -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS) today announced that, in conjunction with local partner CommVerge Solutions, it has deployed the DOCSIS® 2.0-qualified ARRIS Cadant C4 Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) at Woori Cable for the implementation of Woori’s high speed broadband service network. Woori Cable Broadcasting serves approximately 110,000 customers in Uijeongbu, South Korea.

Woori Cable will use the C4 CMTS to anchor its high-speed data offerings and also plans on the eventual provision of VoIP service to its customers. With this deployment it is expected that Korea's DOCSIS 2.0-based CMTS market will begin to significantly expand.

ARRIS, which was the first vendor to receive DOCSIS 1.1 certification, currently holds the number two position in CMTS world market share behind Cisco, according to the most recent Infonetics Research, Inc. report. With its hitless RF redundancy and wire-speed performance, ARRIS provides carrier class stability for value added services such as VoIP and digital video.
