MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com) was recognized in a newly published company profile written by industry research firm, IDC. The report, "ADC: A Broadband Company in Transition," examines ADC's Broadband Infrastructure and Access Business Unit with a focus on the company's transition strategy within its Wireline Systems and Internet Protocol (IP) Cable Business Units. Amy Harris, program manager for Broadband Markets and Technologies at IDC, points to ADC's breadth and depth of broadband and connectivity product offerings as a key to its future success. She notes ADC's new focus on digital subscriber line (DSL) network edge products and IP-based cable modem termination products as a significant step to a successful transformation. "Based on our research, ADC appears to have the right products, extensive customer base and strong international reach to recover quickly when carrier spending resumes," said Harris. "Under Mr. Roscitt's leadership, ADC is well on the way to completing its restructuring efforts, which means the company is poised to increase revenue within the domestic and international broadband access space." ADC supports all DSL technologies over copper, from the central office to the customer premises. With market share of more than 42 percent, the company's HDSLx platforms deliver inexpensive T1 service to small- and medium-sized business customers. In addition, ADC's new iAN Broadband Access Gateway serves as a next-generation multiservice platform offering designed for the network edge. The company's IP Cable Business Unit continues to gain market share in the cable modem termination system (CMTS) space serving multiple system operator networks. The Cuda 12000 IP Access Switch is DOCSIS 1.1 certified and designed to aggregate high volumes of cable and IP traffic for transport over data and Internet networks. The new Cuda 1000 is a compact version of the Cuda 12000 designed for small and midsized MSOs. IDC ADC Telecommunications Inc.
