Ex-RBOC Prez Joins Quantum Bridge Board

ANDOVER, Mass. -- Quantum Bridge Communications Inc., a leading developer of optical access networking solutions, today announced that James G. Cullen has joined its Board of Directors. Cullen, who recently retired from Bell Atlantic, will be instrumental as Quantum Bridge continues to provide established and emerging service providers with world-class optical access networking solutions.

As Bell Atlantic's president and chief operating officer, Cullen had responsibility for all of the corporation's business operations and development initiatives. Prior to that role, Cullen served as president and chief executive officer in the Telecom Group, with responsibility for all consumer and retail lines of the business. Previously, Cullen was vice chairman of the Bell Atlantic Corporation, a position he had held since January 1995, with accountability for the corporation's strategic planning, business development and customer-focused network lines of business.
