BOSTON -- EarthLink (Nasdaq: ELNK - News) High Speed Internet service is now available to cable Internet-ready households in AT&T Broadband's Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine service area, including the greater Boston area, the two companies announced today. This offering follows an initial EarthLink-AT&T Broadband service introduction in Seattle in July. Both service launches are part of the multiple Internet service provider agreement that the two companies reached earlier this year. "We are very excited to offer New England residents an alternative for their cable Internet service," said Staci Parker, vice president of cable sales for EarthLink. "For the first time, New England consumers can enjoy the choice of a powerful combination of high-speed Internet service over cable and the tools and support that have won EarthLink industry awards year after year." The New England launch further expands EarthLink's cable Internet footprint -- the largest of any independent ISP in the country. EarthLink signed its first multiple-ISP agreement with Time Warner Cable in November 2000. Since then, EarthLink has launched high-speed Internet service in all of Time Warner Cable's 39 markets.
