HORSHAM, Pa. and THE HAGUE -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Broadband Communications Sector today announced that Casema, one of the Netherlands' leading broadband network operators, has selected the Motorola Broadband Services Router (BSR) 64000 integrated cable modem termination system (CMTS)/router and SURFboard(R) SB4200E high speed cable modem, and has begun to commercially deploy the carrier-class, content-aware BSR 64000 and SB4200E to offer advanced data services to potentially more than 1.3 million subscribers.

Casema selected Motorola based on a diligent evaluation of the Motorola BSR 64000 CMTS/router and the Motorola SB4200E cable modem in addition to Motorola's comprehensive knowledge, experience, and capabilities to assist them with the initial deployment of standards-based data and Voice over IP (VoIP) services. The Motorola BSR 64000 CMTS/router features a high-performance, high-availability architecture and advanced routing capabilities including MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) - used to maintain Multiple ISPs - and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for commercial customers. With its hardware-based packet processing, the Motorola BSR 64000 can support Casema's large population of modems and multiple services through real-time treatment. The Motorola SB4200E cable modem provides Casema with the enhanced data security it requires, as well as an advanced processor for the highest speeds available.

"Motorola's proven industry expertise and technologies give us the added confidence that we'll be ready and fully equipped to deliver best-in-class data and voice services throughout our service area," said Henk de Goede, CEO of Casema. "SURFboard cable modems - and the Motorola brand - are widely recognized, trusted, and valued by our customers. Installing the Motorola SB4200E is our assurance to them that we are providing the utmost in reliable, high-speed data access. The Motorola BSR 64000's advanced features will allow us to offer a range of new voice and data services that will continue to keep our customers satisfied, and the BSR 64000's scalability means that these services can be delivered in a very cost-effective manner."

"The Motorola BSR 64000 has become the leading next-generation platform to support the global rollout of Euro-DOCSIS 1.1, DOCSIS 1.1 and PacketCable- based high speed data and VoIP services," said Paul King, vice president and general manager, Motorola Broadband - Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). "The Motorola SB4200E features the latest technology to provide the fastest data speeds possible. We look forward to working with Casema to roll out these products to provide the delivery of advanced data and voice services to their customers."

The deployment of standards-based data services is the first step in a series of new services to be delivered to Casema's customers.
