9:30 AM -- On current form, T-Mobile (UK) is the most popular kid in the British mobile operator classroom -- everyone, it seems, wants to be its friend.
Initial media reports this week suggested that bankers had approached Vodafone Group plc (NYSE: VOD) about a potential acquisition of T-Mobile International AG 's British operation. (See Vodafone Mulls T-Mobile Bid.)
Now Telefónica UK Ltd. , part of Telefónica SA (NYSE: TEF)'s European operations, and even Orange (NYSE: FTE)'s British outpost, Orange UK , are being linked to all manner of M&A action. Check out this Bloomberg report for a quick update on the speculation.
Now all we need is for someone to suggest that BT Group plc (NYSE: BT; London: BTA) wants a piece of the action, to help make up for its strategically problematic lack of mobile assets, and we'll have some real fun!
