SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Hyosung ITX, a major Korean business solution provider, has improved the performance and reliability of its content delivery network (CDN) by deploying Juniper Networks MX Series Ethernet Services Routers. With MX960 and MX480 routers in its network, Hyosung ITX can ensure that bandwidth-intensive Web content is securely delivered with high-performance and quality to a substantial number of concurrent users.

Hyosung ITX's CDN enables the streaming of high-quality video, smooth downloads for online games and maintenance software, and the caching of other high-bandwidth content. To manage content effectively, Hyosung ITX operates six server farms nationwide and employs data mirroring techniques to route data via the fastest and most reliable path from server to user. By installing MX Series routers, overall network capacity has increased and the server farms now communicate faster and more efficiently, allowing Hyosung ITX to provide optimal performance even under high-traffic conditions. Additionally, the unique firewall capabilities within the MX Series' JUNOS. Software helps protect Hyosung ITX from network threats including Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks.

'The Juniper routing platforms empower us with the performance, security and network flexibility essential to high-traffic CDNs,' said Park Sun-Kyu, manager of the CDN Infrastructure Team, Hyosung ITX. 'We selected the MX Series routers to help protect our network from attacks - such as DDOS - and to improve the speed at which our server farms communicate with one another. Both (of these) functions are critical to CDNs when serving such a high number of concurrent users.'
