Jerry Crook steps down as CEO of Cramer Systems as he's charged with securities fraud at a previous firm
November 2, 2004
Jerry Crook has stepped down as CEO of up-and-coming OSS firm Cramer Systems Ltd. after being charged with conspiracy to defraud investors while he was an executive at software firm Peregrine Systems Inc.
Crook is just one of a number of former Peregrine executives charged with conspiracy to commit a multibillion-dollar securities fraud between 1997 and 2002.
Crook, who joined Cramer in June 2002 shortly after leaving Peregrine, stepped down from his post as CEO in the past 24 hours, and his details are no longer on the Cramer Website (see Cramer Hires Crook).
He does, though, remain as an adviser to the software firm, says the company's director of corporate communications, Robert Curran.
Crook wasn't available for comment.
Now the inventory management specialist is seeking a new CEO who can continue with the company's IPO plans and ongoing growth (see Cramer Preps an IPO). In the meantime, Cramer founder Jon Craton will take the helm.
