NEW YORK -- Jopwell, the leading recruitment and hiring platform for building a more racially diverse workforce, today announced the launch of The Well (www.thewell.jopwell.com) as a portal for career advice, thought leadership, and perspectives on the workplace experience. At launch, The Well features guest interviews and contributions from chef-entrepreneur Marcus Samuelsson, Reverend Jesse Jackson of Rainbow/PUSH, and investors Mitch and Freada Kapor of Kapor Capital.

“Jopwell connects talented professionals and students with amazing jobs, but our mission goes beyond diversifying top workforces,” said Porter Braswell, CEO and cofounder of Jopwell. “We focus on empowering users to be their best professional selves at every stage of their career. That’s why we created The Well – to shares stories of and for Black, Latino/Hispanic, and Native American professionals and students, along with advice they can apply directly to all stages of their careers.”

The Well provides an outlet for underrepresented ethnic minority industry leaders and celebrities – along with professionals and students across a variety of industries – to share their insights and experiences.

“There’s no shortage of conversation or coverage about ‘diversity’,”said Ryan Williams, president and cofounder of Jopwell. “But we know firsthand that the barriers are real and ‘it’s hard to be what you cannot see. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce a unified content platform capturing our community’s collective professional experiences; The Well allows us to share these stories at scale with our users, partners, and beyond. We’re thankful to have the support of high-profile contributors who believe in the importance of this as much as we do.”

Jopwell is backed by Magic Johnson Enterprises, Joe Montana’s Liquid 2 Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Kapor Capital, Omidyar Network, Valar Ventures, Cue Ball Capital, and Arum Partners of the San Francisco 49ers, among others. To date, Jopwell has raised $4.22 million in angel and seed funding, including previous investments from Y Combinator and Rothenberg Ventures.

In the last year, more than 50 leading companies have signed up to use Jopwell’s technology. The number of users on the platform has grown 329 percent in the last six months.
