Huawei Launches FTTx Products

PARIS -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced the launch of the cutting-edge Terabit SmartAX FTTx solution at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2006.

With the popularity of broadband access services and the launch of high bandwidth services such as Video on Demand, Internet games and IPTV, optical fiber access (FTTx) stands out and becomes the trend of fixed access networks. According to the development trend of the industry, Huawei launches the Terabit FTTx solution with high bandwidth of the optical fiber. The solution supports GPON and VDSL2 to deliver more flexible services. Based on the 10GE architecture, this solution also supports smooth evolution from GE to 10GE platform. It features excellent scalability, robust IP features and serviceability to fulfill the future multi-services demands of ultra-high bandwidth, and substantially reduce OPEX for the operators.

(“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, showcased its innovative products and solutions at Broadband World Forum Europe 2006 held in Paris from October 9 to 12. During the forum, Huawei shared its leading industry concepts with world leading carriers and over 6,000 participants, and demonstrated its robust R&D capability and sustainable innovation ability.

Huawei Technologies led the opening workshop on “broadband access transformation” on October 9. Leading telecoms such as Telefonica, TI, and True participated to this workshop. The discussion focused on their experience, visions, roadmaps, transformation of broadband access network, and the latest research and practices.

In a separate workshop with industry experts, Huawei gave a presentation on “Building multi-service IP bearer networks to pave the way for IMS development”, which covered several topics on IP bearer network, such as security, QoS and flexibility. Huawei also held the Metro Ethernet Network workshop, inviting tens carriers and consulting companies to discuss the technology trends, operation models and prospects of IP MAN construction. In addition, Huawei held several technical seminars on access network, optical network and data communications.

During the three-day forum, Huawei showcased its superior Terabit FTTx solution and multi-service broadband MAN solution to demonstrate its strong bearer capacity for multi-services, like Triple-play. In the mean time, Huawei released the Terabit SmartAX FTTx solution. A number of customers visited Huawei’s exhibition booth, to experience Huawei’s innovative products and solutions and discuss with expert about the application and development of new technologies.
